Tuesday November 4th at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at the Medical Warehouse of FFTH. It's at 1225 Ave W South, just before Latrace Arena on the south end of W. It's a large coverall building on the right hand side.

Come out and volunteer with others from Connect and learn more about Food For the Hungry Canada. They are one of the organizations that Connect Church will be supporting this year with our offerings. They have a locally based warehouse in Saskatoon that processes donations of medical equipment and supplies and sends them across the world to their partner communities, to equip them to care for the poor and most vulnerable in their countries.

Food for the Hungry is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to ending poverty - one community at a time. With partners like you, FH walks alongside the most vulnerable communities throughout the developing world as they strive toward sustainability. Recognizing that each community faces unique challenges as well as advantages, FH is committed to an integrated, holistic approach to development including priorities such as agriculture, education, health, and gender equality.

Just about anyone can help in the warehouse. Opportunities to get involved include sorting linens, repairing medical equipment and loading containers.

Sorting and Cleaning:
Come join a friendly group of staff and volunteers who help out by sorting linens, counting medical items or cleaning the office. Syringes, sutures and other medical items need to be organized and packed. Help wash and paint equipment, sort and/or mend linen to make sure those in need get good qualilty supplies.
Medical Equipment Refurbishing:
If you enjoy mechanical or electrical repairs, or have knowledge of electronics, we have a great need for your service. Volunteers assist with the checking, refurbishing and repairing of donated medical equipment, which is then shipped to needy health facilities around the world. Due to the variation of equipment we receive, we can utilize any skill level. Direction and supervision is provided as needed.
Help load or unload a container:
Once a week or so, a container is unloaded (from Canadian hospitals) or loaded (to go to the developing world). Get some exercise and work with a great group of people to move the equipment in or out of the shipping containers. Feel free to call (306-374-6776) or email us (imed@cfhi.ca) to get more information.
